The Stalwart Captain
Julius Vernon is a captain in the Yewess Naval Fleet. Known for professionalism and integrity, he is sent out to capture the fugitive Tom Shallowhorne after he leaves Endía. Little did he know that in the process, he would run into a long-forgotten nemesis - Gnomon Chase!
Origins
When I started writing the first novel in the trilogy - West World - I already knew I needed a central character that was a captain of a starship for the second story. Since I wanted my technology for the West World universe to reflect the Victorian era, I named my captain after Jules Verne. As far as his looks go in my artwork, I imagined Tommy Lee Jones channeling Kenny Rogers.
